There are plenty of ways to eradicate your party inBaldur’s Gate 3. One, in particular, happens during the Free Lae’zel mission, determining the fate of the Githyanki warrior. But what happens if you kill Lae’zel inBG3? Here’s what you need to know about this deadly decision.
Outcomes of killing Lae’zel in Baldur’s Gate 3, explained
When venturing toAct 1’sRoadside Cliffs, you’ll stumble upon a debacle between the Tieflings andLae’zel. It is here where the decision to kill her comes into play. If you defeat her, you canloot her body to gain her armor, supplies, and weaponry. However, this meansLae’zel will no longer be a companion for the party, nor is she a romantic option
Anything related to Lae’zel’s storyline will also be cut, especially concerning the Githyanki. You may still encounter the Githyanki later on, but she won’t be a part of it. Once I brought down/initiated the kill,Shadowheart seems to be the only one who approves of this action. The rest of the party doesn’t mind it either, so there aren’t too many consequences.
The Free Lae’zel quest will be completed, updating the journal with the decision to kill. You can continue the story as usual as you find your way to Baldur’s Gate. On the other hand, freeing Lae’zel is well worth it due to her elite skills as a fighter. She’s proven valuable to my team time and time again since she has multiple advantages. For example, her attacks deal a ton of damage to the enemy, both ranged and melee.
But if the Githyanki warrior, for some reason, doesn’t sit right with you, nip her in the bud and take her down right away. The only consequences primarily lie with her story and nothing much outside of that. The fight with Lae’zel can also be done quickly with the Tieflings at your side. The showdown pits one (Lae’zel) against five, so it’ll likely be done in a few minutes.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 3addressed various issues with this decision that caused Lae’zel to follow the party afterward. Thus, she should now stay dead and not pop up randomly in cutscenes.
