10 million sold to date

Taiko no Tatsujinkicked off in 2001 and it’s been going strong ever since, especially in Japan. Although the west doesn’t always get some of the more esoteric games (like the 3DS RPG) odds are you’ve seen it in arcades and are at least aware of Bandai Namco’s adorable littleTaikomascot.

It’s not just anecdotal success either, as Bandai Namco reports that they’ve pushed 10 million copies of the series on consoles,  Partly due to the release ofDrum Session(PS4) andDrum ‘n’ Fun(Switch) worldwide this past year. Note that both of those systems are extremely successful in just about every region, so it makes sense that they would help lead the charge over the 10-million mark.
