Once again, the ESRB has beenshedding informationon upcoming games, and it’s been revealed that a number of Sega Genesis games have been given the green light for release on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.
Sonic 3,Comix Zone,Phantasy Star IIandGunstar Heroesare all slated to appear on each console’s digital download service, which would make for a second series of releases afterSonic the Hedgehog,Sonic II,Golden Axe,Echo the Dolphine andStreets of Rage IImade appearances last year.
The lack of “& Knuckles” at the end ofSonic 3is a little disheartening, and with the release ofSonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collectioncoming soon, one wonders just what the point is. Still, this is Sega, and nostalgia is its bread and butter.
