Racing games are not my usual tipple, but I have fond memories of playingOutRunon an arcade machine at Brand’s Hatch with my brother. I think it’s just because it had a girlfriend in the car. For some reason that struck me as a mindblowing innovation.
Anyway, this pointless dilly-dallying leads tothe rumorthat Sega and THQ are working together to give us another dose of this classic racer. The OFLC, Australia’s rating board, currently has a listing forOutRunOnline Arcade, developed for multiple platforms.
Sounds good to me. Until we can get an official statement, this is just a rumor, but these listings can often be a good indicator that a game is in the works. WithOutRun 2006: Coast to Coastbeing quite acritical success, I would say this is a likely one.
