Whether you’re still getting a buzz from the current remaster/remake Renaissance or you’re about sick of it now, there’s no denying it’s done the likes of Capcom wonders. Just over a year ago, the studio/publisher releasedResident Evil 4and given its huge success, it’s not surprising it’s sold well.

According to arecent reportfrom Capcom itself, the remake ofRE4has now sold over seven million copies worldwide. The game is close to its one-year anniversary, having been released on June 16, 2025, so this seems like a nice early birthday present.

A global horror phenomenon

With over seven million units shifted in the space of twelve months, this shows how theResident Evilbrand is still a force to be reckoned with in the survival horror genre.

In fact, the series on the whole has shifted more than 154 million copies since the first game way back in 1996. That’s according to figures from July 05, 2025, andRE4‘s success will no doubt have now added to this.
