A better eShop would be nice With the advent of the Switch 4.0 update that allows limited 30-second videos for select games, it really got me thinking — what does the Switch need? I mean, there’s a lot of ancillary stuff that Nintendo could do to catch up to other consoles. For one, actual full-on video clip support that lasts more than half a minute, among other app additions like YouTube, Hulu, and Netflix....

Launching Spring 2018 in Japan, the remaster will have enhanced graphics, 4K resolutions, surround-sound, and PlayStation VR support. I was just about to get around to theZone of the Endersgames on my backlog, and I don’t think I quite need to wait on this remaster as I’m fine with the old graphics and playing in non-VR....

‘You’re on in five, Ms. Uncanny’ Square Enix-owned studio Luminous Productions has released a short tech demo showing off the capabilities of path-tracing technology, to be a featured as part of the studio’s own “Luminous Engine”. The impressive two-minute clip features a young actor as she sits in a darkly-lit dressing room, applying her make-up. Rendered in real-time on a GeForce RTX 2080 Ti processor, the “Back Stage” demo is designed to highlight the shadow, movement, lighting, reflection and emotion captured in the model’s performance....
