Nipples forever Splatoon‘s third U.S. Splatfest took place yesterday. It was a lot like the other two Splatfests, except for the inclusion of the two new weapons that were rolled out in the August 6th update, though I didn’t see them used as much as I thought I might. It looks like a lot of people stuck with the tools they knew best for this competition, though that didn’t stop me from getting splatted by a few buckets and Gatling guns here and there....

For a moment, it’s unclear if we’re viewing some time after the ambush that concluded last week’s episode, or if we’re getting a flashback. If I’m being completely honest, I was momentarily worried we were going to get an origin story episode, which the show (smartly) has steered away from in recent history....
I’m highly skeptical of remasters and remakes. They tend to either feel underwhelming or,worse,to actually do a competent job that ends up replacing the beautiful memories we had of the original. I didn’t have either problem with the newTomb RaiderRemastered. Originally, I thought that was just because the game gave me the chance to pick between a respectfully improved version of the old, and a beautiful new vision for the classic, but there was more to it than just that....

Switching between games, online browsing, and live television is all done with instant voice commands and no loading. At CES 2012 we got our first taste of some of the cloud and in-game 3G functionality for the PlayStation Vita, set to launch late next month in the US. WithWarrior’s Lair, a third-person action RPG due out in late 2012, cross platform play with the PS3 is available, and continuing your play from one system to another is easy with cloud save support. I first started playing the game on a Vita, and was able to pause, select a cloud save option, and after save confirmation, was able to pick up a PS3 controller and continue exactly where I left off....

Now,Child’s Playis the latest franchise to be incorporated, as developer Behaviour Interactive brings the killer doll Chucky to the game. A new trailer for the patch shows the pint-sized terror doing what he does best: stabbing people to death. Chucky comes with two modes, Normal and Hidey-Ho, the latter of which makes him temporarily undetectable....

As part ofCS:GO‘s Operation Breakout initiative, six user-created maps have been promoted to cycle in official matchmaking for three months. The maps in question are: Castle, Insertion, Mist, Overgrown, Rush, and Blackgold. While the maps are free forCS:GOplayers, those that are so inclined can break out their wallets to pay for a bit more....
