Things are beginning to look up for Nintendo’s digital sales. The company recently reported in theirsecond quarter financial results briefingthat the total money earned in downloadable sales, for the first half of this financial year, exceeded any other six-month period-to-date. “The download sales in the first half of this fiscal year reached 11.4 billion yen ($146m), which is more than double the figure in the first half of the previous year and surpassed that of the second half....

His overall demeanor here is a little cooler and sexier, as well as seeing him sans cigarette....

Strange Scaffoldhas launcheda number of new levels in the form of an epilogue onto their power fantasy FPSI Am Your Beast. This comes in the form of what they’re calling the Support Group Pack and, oh, I just got that reference. There are nine new missions being stamped onto the back of the game. It’s an epilogue, but it’s not about Harding moving on and living a fulfilling civilian life full of brunches and pottery classes....

Not quite blasting off just yet Despite having already far surpassed its initial goals, developer Granzella has re-opened itsKickstarter campaignfor the upcomingR-Type Final2, following on from the successful showing of a playable build at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. The initial crowdfunding effortopened for one week only back in June, and succeeded in bringing in over $900,000 USD, absolutely smashing its initial target of $400,000. According to Granzella, fans have stated that the short time window in which to donate left them unable to contribute, and thus the developerhas re-opened the campaignin order for those who missed out first time (or perhaps feel more confident having seeing the game in action) can offer up further funds....

Will remain producer of Senran Kagura series Kenichiro Takaki, producer of the long-runningSenran Kaguraseries, has left developer/publisher Marvelous in order to pursue new projects elsewhere. Takaki will, however, remain producer of theSenran Kaguraseries. Speaking in Japanese publicationFamitsu, Takaki spoke of pressure brought about by the recent rulings on sexually-suggestive content in video games. PlayStation Pocket As today is A Day, a major publisher has decided to acquire a new studio. Today, it is the turn of Sony, which has purchased mobile developer Savage Game Studios.Speaking on PlayStation Blog, the publisher notes its intention to feature the German outlet as part of its new mobile development division. “We made this deal because we believe that PlayStation Studios’ leadership respects our vision for how we can best operate and succeed, and because they too are not afraid to take chances,” said Savage Games CEO Michail Katkoff....

Features beta and full game shots Bohemia Interactive will be showing off some brand newArma 3content at E3 this year, and to tease us all a bit, the development team have pushed out twelve new screenshots. The aforementioned content will range from new game modes (including Combined Arms and Commanding) to weapons from the upcomingArma 3Beta and full game — some of which can be seen in the screenshots released. While no specific date for the beta has been given yet, Bohemia did mention that it will probably be 1-2 weeks after E3....

To keep the adventures fresh, developer Rebellion has a trove of free and paid DLC content planned for the game’s future. The first of such content arrived yesterday, with the launch of the Texas Cowboy Character Pack. This includes a rootin’ tootin’ new adventurer, three new Score Attack levels, and a new Horde map in the form of “Palace”....

But the most dangerous threat might not be them, but other players. This new mech game debuted at yesterday’sSony State of Play, showing off its combat and style.
