Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization coming west this fall

Too soon? Earlier this year at the Dengeki Game Festival, Bandai Namco announcedHollow Realization, the latest game based on the popularSword Art Onlineseries, would be releasing in Japan this fall. Now, the publisher has confirmed the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita title will make its western debut around the same time. Normally, I’d say that’s exciting news. It’s usually nice when companies have simultaneous worldwide launches for their games. But in the case ofSword Art Online, well, it would be nice to see these games get a little extra time with a localization specialist and some editors....

The Network Roundup: Just drop kick it

I had the pleasure of catching Gareth Evans’s Indonesian at action flick,The Raid:Redemptionthis weekend. Pretty much everything that has followed leaving the theatre has consisted of me kneeing or elbowing it. I’m not sure if my co-workers are totally digging my new style. Doesn’t everyone turn off their iMac with a flying knee? The network was also a battlefield this weekend with plenty of the network’s staff out and about at various conventions, ready to get slapped around by readers....

Titanfall’s sniping class won’t be cheap

‘Quick scoping and no scoping are ineffective’ A Respawn developer by the handle of scriptacus took to theTitanfallforumsto give us a little new information on the game’s sniping class. “Sniping is in the game, but due to how the game plays it’s a pretty different animal than you’ll find in your run of the mill modern military shooter. Quick scoping and no-scoping are ineffective.” I imagine this has a lot to do with how much more fast-pacedTitanfallplayscompared to shooters likeCall of DutyandBattlefield....

Top ten unforgettable deaths in Dead Space

The faces of (space) death One of the elements of classic horror is that when the horrible thing you are dreading finally happens, it happens in a way far more gruesome than you expect. Visceral Games got this part right so many times in itsDead Spaceseries that I wonder if I’ve become desensitized to alien dismemberment at this point. Even if I have, I am still disturbed by watching series protagonist Isaac Clarke meet his end, time and time again....
