DidFinal Fantasy XIII, one of the most advertised, hyped games of the past four years, just get outsold byNew Super Mario Bros Wii,LoZ: The Spirit Tracks, and that God damned “Miis make friends on the DS” game in only it’s second week of release in Japan? That’s nuts. Now, I know that Final Fantasy games aren’t known for their long legs, but to see the mega-budgeted, mega-advertised game get outsold so quickly by three games that likely cost one tenth of whatFinal Fantasy XIIIcost to produce just confuses me....

Here we go with this again Recodeis reporting that Amazon is gearing up to reveal their set-top box once again. Sources say Amazon is aiming to bring out their device in March. News of the set-top box have been going aroundsince late last year, and it’s said this will serve as a means for users to watch streaming content with ease similar to Apple TV and Roku. Recode says the device will use Google’s Android operating system, but it’s not exactly known yet if the box will also double as a gaming machine of any kind....

It’s that game for the Leap Motion PC accessory Based on the comic book seriesBlue Estate, Focus Home Interactive adapted the property into an on-rails shooter for the PC back in 2013. It was made exclusively for the Leap Motion accessory, which turned your finger into a reticle, much like Microsoft’s Kinect. It makes sense then that the studio is porting the game to the Xbox One and PS4, which will arrive in the third quarter of 2014....

Original music in the style of 16-bit boss battles Retro game inspired music speaks to me (as I’m sure it does for many of you), and while I do enjoy a good remix/remake/remaster here and there, a lot of my favorite pieces are original compositions. Electronic music creator Mark Reichwein appears to agree, and he isputting together an entire albumdone in the style of Super Nintendo boss battle themes. Reichwein stresses that these are not to be remakes of the music from twenty years ago, but original pieces done in the style of various ’90s era games, using the sounds from those games....

What is anime? Cosplay videos are always challenging, especially when you’re at a show where you don’t recognize half the characters. I don’t watch a whole lot of anime, but I wanted to see if I could make an interesting video nonetheless! Maybe I succeeded, who knows? Also, I forgot to turn off the 60 frames-per-second setting on my camera, so enjoy that option.
