Yakuza director says his best ideas for the series start with him in a bathtub

Cinderella Story At E3 2019 this year, I had the distinct honor of sitting down with Kazuki Hosokawa (producer forJudgmentandYakuza) from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios and asking him about the future of the series and how each game gets made. As well as getting some insight into the development process, I learned that Hosokawa gets his best ideas while sitting in the bathtub. While he wouldn’t confirm if he sipped on champagne while doing so, I now like to believe he lives exactly like the characters he creates....

18 minutes of Hitman: Absolution’s Contracts mode

See how to create custom contracts I can hardly be the only one who gets tired of seeing unimaginative trailer after trailer, which is why this video forHitman: Absolutionis so great. It’s approximately 18 minutes of IO Interactive demonstrating the game’s Contracts mode, where players create their own custom hits for others to attempt. While I’m sure there will be some truly absurd challenges to come from the community, in order to create a contract, you have to actually play through it yourself....

Caitlin Oliver goes for a new Splatterhouse record LIVE

Just in time for Halloween A lot of people citeSuper Metroidas the first game that showed them how tense and isolated videogames can make them feel. For me, that realization came four years earlier when I picked upSplatterhouseon the Turbografx-16. LikeSuper Metroid, it didn’t seem to care that it was a videogame. It wasn’t afraid to do things that games were not expected to do, things that few believed were strengths of the medium at the time....

Capcom to fix Lost Planet again

Capcomhas announced that on March 9 (or somewhere around there, pending Microsoft’s 34,487 levels of certification),Lost Planetplayers will receive an update. The patch will add additionalmultiplayerfeatures, as well as fix some bugs/exploits that were discovered post-release. This is not the first patch forLost Planet, which also required an update the very day it was released. My personal favorite new “feature” will be an indicator that’s being added next to theGamertagof a person who is speaking in Team Elimination, Post Grab, and Fugitive modes....
