You foreigners might be finding it hard to care about the Japanese RPG in these so-called enlightened days of game design, but developer imageepoch cares. It’s gonna fight for those fans left in the cold by your disgusting genre apathy! They’re not just doing it for themselves, but for you filthy foreigners’ sake, as well.

Unfortunately, imageepoch’s has little in the way of a presence on your filthy foreign soil. Thankfully, NIS-America does, and it also has a long history of catering to fans of all things Nippon. To that end, they’ve struck a deal with imageepoch to bring its stable of allegedly genre-reviving titles to you filthy foreigners.

The big surprise (to me, at least) is that the first game to be trotted over the pond won’t beLast Promise StoryorChevalier Tactics Saga, but theBlack Rock ShooterRPG adaptation. Why is that a surprise? Well, they’ve managed to construct a whole RPG out of a 50-minute anime movie that’s based on a plastic figure (which the fine folks at Tomopop reviewed) that’s based on aVocaloidsong (and music video) that’s based on an illustration by a single fan artist, none of which actually made it out of Japan.

Well, good luck with that, I suppose. If nothing else, this would be the ideal format forBlack Rock Shooterto actually come to filthy foreign lands in the first place. Check out the game trailerhere, or see the original music video below.
