We like Adult Swim’sMetalocalypse. A lot. But a video game about Brendon Small’s and Tommy Blacha’s animated series about the worlds biggest (and most ridiculous) death metal band, Dethklok?
No stranger to videogames (the “fictional” band’s track “Thunderhorse” appeared inGuitar Hero II), we’ve been hearing that there are bigger plans in the works, specifically a digital download title for a platform like Xbox LIVE Arcade. While the series’ animators, Titmouse Inc., recently started a game studio, it doesn’t look like it will be developing the title.

Inour interview at GDC, when the subject was brought up, they simply wouldn’t comment. But in a recent interview withG4TV.com, they confirm that a game is in the works… just not with Titmouse Games. We followed up with Cartoon Network a few weeks back to clarify.
“There’s nothing we can say at this time,” we were told by a rep.

Now, a trademark (viasuperannuation) has been filed by Cartoon Network forMetalocalypse: Dethgamefor a “downloadable video game distributed via the internet,” which seems to fit in with what we’ve been hearing.
This fall, a new Dethklok album will hit stores alongside theMetalocalypse‘s season 3 premiere… perhaps we’ll be hearing more on this title soon.
