No matter how dire the game landscape was for this series, Capcom was king of Mega merch
Ever wonder why there are threeCarsfilms? Merch. Although the $462 million worldwide gross of the firstCarsmovie wasn’t a monumental hit by Disney standards, the toys were another story (ha). That line, completely separate from the media arm of the franchise, once pushed roughly two billion per year (in just five yearsCarstoys reached $8 billion in total). Merch, man: it makes the world go ’round.
Capcom has been following that same principle withMega Manfor years. Although all of his games were canceled, month after month some new outfit or piece of gear would be created for the series, mining the nostalgia of fans. It makes sense then that the 30th anniversary ofMega Man, which actually hosted a brand new game, is closing out with merch.

It’s called the “Rockman 30th Anniversay Goods Festa,” and will be sprawled across Japan from November 30 through December 16. Goodies include shirts, bags, towels, phone cases, mugs and more, plus bonuses (two postcards) for reaching certain spending limits like 2,000 yen (roughly $17 US).
If you happen to be in Japan during those datesyou can find more info here. Hopefully this helps fundMega Man 12.
