[Mash Tacticsairs Monday through Friday at 4p.m. Pacific onDtoid.TV. Watch King Foom play a variety of games, each day with its own theme. With a heavy focus on community and viewer interaction, you may be as much a part of the show as anything else.]

To say that I’ve been addicted toGalactic Civilizations IIas of latewould be a severe understatement, when in truth it has totally consumed my gaming life. I had been craving a good 4x game with a sci-fi theme for a while now and had somehow missed out on this title, so the other day I decided to finally pick it up and give it a shot. Needless to say, I haven’t been able to put it down, or play anything else since. From spending hours customizing everything from my galaxy, my race, and my opposition, to playing matches of epic scale well into the morning, I really didn’t think I could be any happier with my purchase. And then, well, then I found the mods.

It would seem that in the years since this game has been out, the modding community has been quite busy creating everything from graphical updates to custom races and everything in between. However, there was one mod that caught my eye right off the bat: a total conversion mod entitledStar Wars vs. Star Trek. This gigantic mod recreates many of the factions from both the Star Wars and Star Trek universes, and pits them against each other for total control of the galaxy. I mean really, what’s better than the Galactic Empire teaming up with the Borg to take down the Jedi along with the Federation? Come watch it go down onDtoid.TV!
