Considering that the Nintendo DSi just went on sale in Japan this past weekend, it’s no surprise that scalpers are already selling them on auction sites. This selleron Yahoo Auctions has nearly fifty DSi units listed, each of them starting at 25,000 Yen ($252 US). Not shockingly, they aren’t selling. His feedback isn’t so good either, but even if it was sterling, I’m not so sure I would shell out that much to get a DSi, even if I was drooling to own one.

Unlike other hot import commodities, the DSi just isn’t commanding the markup that the Wii previously enjoyed. You can shell out 300 bucks to get one throughPlay-Asia, but it seems like the average American consumer would rather just wait until the DSi comes to America, or even crazier, keep the DS they already have. What a novel concept.
