Earlier this week, indie mobile game developerInsurgent Gamesmade all of their iOS and Android games free to download. On top of that, they have also made their source code for all the titles available to download from theirwebsite.

Insurgent Games was founded in 2009 when two aspiring game developers, Micah Lee and Crystal Mayer, decided to make their own mark on the mobile gaming landscape. Working out of their studio apartment in San Francisco, they were able to develop a number of titles for both iOS and Android devices. After a few years, both Micah and Crystal decided it was time to move onto other projects.

As a final act to the indie game community, Micah and Crystal decided to release their games and source code in the hopes that other aspiring young game developers can learn from their work. For me, it’s always hard to hear of another game developershutting down. But, in this case, at least their work will be put to good use.
