Settingall of its issuesaside,Diablo 4has successfully established itself as a prime choice for hack ‘n’ slash fans who just want to keep hacking and slashing their way through hordes of demons, perpetually. Grinding the Nightmare Dungeons’ Glyph XP is as good a reason as any, really.

As Glyphs are a prime example ofDiablo 4‘s seasonal progression hooks, it’s obvious that Blizzard would want to keep players entertained with the process of upgrading them for as long as possible. One of the ways in which this is accomplished, however, isn’t all too user-friendly, as it’s currently impossible to save or store Glyph XP at the end of a Nightmare Dungeon.

Saving Glyph XP in Diablo 4

Indeed, as ofDiablo 4‘s Season 2 of content, it isnot possible to store Glyph XPafter completing a Nightmare Dungeon. Instead, if you find yourself in a situation where you don’t have enough XP to level up a specific Glyph, your only options are to either waste it all, or invest it in a different Glyph that you may or may not find yourself ever using.

The ‘use it or lose it’ approach to Glyph XP grind is par for the course, givenDiablo 4‘s live-service nature, but it’s obviously a quirk of the system that simply does not work in the players’ favor.

Further, as there’s no way to refund the Glyph XP you’ve already spent, this means that dumping smaller-than-useful amounts of Glyph XP into Glyphs you don’t ever intend on using is effectively the same as losing it all entirely. It’s not an ideal system from the player’s point of view, and it’s certainly possible that Blizzard will end up changing how it works sometime down the line.
