There are thousands of items filling out the Build and Buy catalogue inThe Sims 4, but there’s always room for more options, especially when it comes to clutter. Thankfully, the debug menu and live edit objects are there to help, but you’ll need to know how to access them before you can use them.

How to enable debug objects in The Sims 4

Both debug items and live edit objects fall under the same umbrella term “debug.” These are objects that are technically included in the game, and litter the worlds before you’ve even built a single thing, but usually don’t appear in the Build and Buy catalog. Think cars, streetside decorations, and even entire buildings.

To gain access to these additional items, you’ll need to enter the followingcheats:

That’s technically all you need to do to enable access to the live edit objects within the Build and Buy catalogue, but unlike when you use the “bb.showhiddenobjects” cheat, live edit objects don’t show up as you’re browsing through items. There’s an additional step that reveals them all for use.

How to use the debug search in The Sims 4

When you’re in Build and Buy mode, click into the search bar above the categories in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. Type “debug,” but don’t press Enter. Instead, click on one of the “** DEBUG **” options that pop up.

It doesn’t matter which of them you click on, you’ll still end up with all of the live edit objects popping up. There are live edit objects attached to every pack, including full buildings and other huge objects, so you might have a lot to scroll through. However, there are also some useful clutter items within this selection of new objects, so have fun playing around with all of the new objects to create something truly unique.
