TheFortnite X Pirates of the Caribbeancollaboration event continues once more, with the sixth set of Pirate Code quests asking you to defeat a dueling character with a pistol or melee weapon. This task alone raises many questions about how to find a pistol, what a dueling character is, and how to do this without getting eliminated by another player, which is why we’re here to talk about it.
How to defeat a dueling character with a pistol or melee weapon in Fortnite
Fortnitehas two dueling characters inGrim GateandClassy Courts. After getting your hands on a pistol through chest or floor loot, head to one of these locations and challenge their respective NPC to a duel. Alternatively, you canuse your pickaxeto get the job done quickly if you don’t have a pistol, but your safer bet is to grab a pistol in case another player tries to interfere.
When you first enter the duel, you’ll get knocked back by a small explosion near your dueling character, followed by them shooting at you. They’ll also start with both full health and shields, so having a pistol here will make the fight easier. However, defeating them with your regular melee weapon is entirely possible if you can avoid enemy player attacks.
It’s also worth noting that you only have to deal the finishing blow with your pistol or pickaxe. In other words, you can inflict most of the damage with an SMG, AR, or evenNitro Fistsbefore taking out your pistol and finishing the quest.
Once you defeat the character in a duel, you’ll receive a mythic-grade weapon as loot and the character as a follower for the rest of the match. You’ll also complete its respective Pirate Code Six task of the Cursed Sails event.
