Spartan Points could let players directly buy cosmetics
343 Industries is looking into a new way to pick up cosmetics in itsHalocollection. The studio says it’s considering adding microtransactions toHalo: The Master Chief Collectionthrough purchasable Spartan Points.
Prior to now, Seasons inHalo: The Master Chief Collectionoffered Season Points, which wereearned through challenges and leveling up. But Seasons are being fazed out of theMCC. 343 Industries confirmsin its blog postthat these will be renamed to Spartan Points in the future.

Alongside the change, 343 is looking at new ways to unlock cosmetics. This would be through purchasing Spartan Points.
“It is prudent to note here that we are happy with the current system of how players earn Spartan Points, by completing challenges and levelling up through play. This would be an optional, additive alternative for players who might find the vast scope of content to be an intimidating amount of playtime and want to get ahead on (or skip) the grind, or maybe want to grab specific items they want (we all have our favorites!)”

The Master Chief’s Collection
It’s important to note this is being internally explored, for the time being. 343 says it’s sharing the idea ahead of time in the interest of “transparency” with the community.
It’s also stressing that Spartan Points would be additive. And it’s worth noting the sheer amount of cosmetics inHalo: The Master Chief Collection: well over 1000, by 343’s count.

As long as playtime-earning these cosmetics still exists, there are two avenues forHalocosmetics. Purchasable points seem like they would potentially be a fast-track, buy-it-now option.
