Obsidian Entertainment’s pint-sized survival gameGroundedis making its way onto PlayStation andSwitch on April 16. But it’s not going to be the same game Xbox fans have enjoyed up until now.Groundedupdate 1.4, orthe “Fully Yoked” update, adds even more content and a New Game+ mode.
Much of the content in theGroundedupdate 1.4 isn’t for the new players, mind. The update is mostly geared toward those who have already either mastered the game’s backyard or have gotten pretty close. It includes a lot of mid- to late-game content, and unlocking New Game+ requires defeating the backyard’s most terrifying bosses. But it could be worth it, as New Game+ is more than just “Groundedbut with recipes unlocked.”

Everything in theGrounded“Fully Yoked” update 1.4
Changes to the ants and colonies
It’s the ant update, apparently!Groundedupdate 1.4 adds three Ant Queen rulers, who can be a friend or foe based on what “delectable offering” you present. Your relationship with the queen and her brood offers different rewards based on your actions, with choices creating “ripple effects.” Some of the rewards may be in structures, as the update includes 12 new buildings themed after the Ant Queen. You can also tame a baby ant as a pet, and yeah, I think I’m convinced.
Groundedgets a New Game+ mode
New Game+ mode is set to change the backyard with every new playthrough of the mode. The mode introduces a “remixed” version of the game, in which you face stronger enemies “infused with the essence of Raw Science.” Beating them awards you in Raw Science, naturally, along with trinkets that can “enhance your character.” The mode is only unlockable after you wipe out the big, bad bugs from the backyard. You’ll have to beat theBroodmother, Wasp Queen, Mantis, and Javamatic bosses to gain access.
Here’s what else the New Game+ mode brings:
And more
