Title Update 17 is yet to arrive inEA FC 25at the time of writing this article, and it might first seem like an insignificant late-game patch. Yet, it offers a potential solution to a burning issue in the community: a nerf to those who constantly love to spam the tackle buttons.
If you have ever come across someone who makes more tackle attempts than passes, you’ll know how infuriating it is. If you’re someone who does this, you’ll know how overpowered it is. After nine months following the game’s full launch, EA Sports seems to have finally paid attention to what the larger part of the community wants.

EA FC 25 Title Update 17 might make tackle spamming obsolete
While you’ll still have to depend on timing your tackles properly to win the ball,EA FC 25will be trying to differentiate between a well-timed and mistimed one. In simple words, tackle spamming is the act of pressing the tackle button frequently without caring about accuracy. In an ideal world, this should be a poor choice (imagine VVD not timing a single tackle in real life!). However, many players have used the ‘broken’ system to their advantage, often using the CDM to make the tackles.
This specific set of sentences from the upcoming patch notes will be music to the ears of many.

In fact, this is theonly gameplay-related changein Title Update 17, and it’s a pretty easy one to understand. Apparently, defenders in the current build will land a second tackle instantly after a failed tackle attempt.
Once Title Update 17 goes live, your defenders (or midfielders and attackers, for that matter) will have to be precise with their tackles. On paper, there shouldn’t be any instant attempt at a second one. Moreover, your players will take longer to transition out of their failed tackle attempt animation. Once the patch goes live, the penalty for a mistimed attempt will be much higher.

In all fairness,EA FC 25‘s gameplay may be far from ideal, butthere have been changes since Januaryof this year. However, there’s a lot more room to improve, and one key area is going to be addressed very soon.
The patch is yet to go live, and it’s the perfect time for all to shore up our tackling skills. Come next weekend, your performance in the Champions Finals could entirely rest on how well you can manually tackle and defend when required.
