Owlchemy Labs turns to Kickstarter for funding
Jack Lumberdeveloper Owlchemy Labs has a new project in the pipeline, with a similar visual style but completely different mechanics.Dyscoursestars Rita, an overeducated barista who finds herself involved in an unfortunate accident. A plane she is on crashes, stranding her on an island with a bunch of strangers, fighting for survival.
Despite the cartoony look, it appears to have a similar tone to Telltale’sWalking Deadseries, with branching paths and player decisions that carry real consequences with respect to the outcome. Owlchemy explains that the true branching paths can be accomplished since most of the narrative is told through text, thus avoiding a lot of extra voice acting or asset creation.
