3:00am in video game form

Whenever I watch footage ofHylics 2, a self-described “recreational program with light JRPG elements,” I feel like I’m peering into someone’s dreams. And it’s not just the lavish visuals, surreal as they most certainly are. Every ounce of this game feels detached from reality. Its whole vibe is otherworldly.

Today’s trailer shows more kooky enemy designs, some side-scrolling platformer and dungeon-crawler segments, and a bit of exploration aboard an airship. There’s a lot going on, but it’s still cohesive.
