After weeks of build-up,Doctor Whoviewers have finally been given a peek at the role that Susan Twist plays in all of the madness. In trailers for The Legend of Ruby Sunday, it’s finally confirmed that Twist will indeed play tech mogul Susan Triad.
This news will come as no surprise to anybody who has been keeping up with her appearances and the hints being dropped, but it does confirm the long-known theory that was sparked by a mock-up magazine cover in a documentary featuring Russell T Davies.

Someone anonymously pointed me in the direction of this. It was implied we will see Mrs Merridew again in the form of Susan Triad. Russell T Davies has a “Union Jack ICON” magazine mockup cover featuring her in his office. Triad Technology from 2024 series filming reports.pic.twitter.com/SRqtmZhu9p
In The Legend of Ruby Sunday, the seventh episode ofDoctor Whoseason 14, which is set to release on June 14, the Doctor will finally acknowledge the constant cameos played by Susan Twist, stating that everywhere he lands, a woman appears. The trailer for the episode hints that Susan Triad is showing up in the various locations in her dreams.

New images reveal that the Doctor will meet Susan Triad while accompanied by Mel, a long-running familiar face inDoctor Who. Another image shows Ruby accompanied by Rose Noble, played by Yasmin Finney and familiar from the 60th Anniversary specials.
A final teaser image released ahead of the episode’s debut shows the Doctor using his Sonic device (I’m really glad to see it make a comeback), though my attention is caught by something else in the image. A small child can be seen on what appears to be a Segway – could this be a callback to the first episode of the season, Space Babies?

Russell T. Davies has said that viewers of the upcoming episode ‘will be screaming’ during the two-part climax to season 14, with Ruby’s ‘deepest secret’ being revealed. Some suspect that Ruby is not entirely what she seems to be, citing her unflinching acceptance of the alien goings-on she has experienced.
In a post onInstagram, Russell T. Davies has teased yet another character’s growing importance. Mrs. Flood, the far too knowledgeable next-door neighbour of Ruby Sunday, can be seen inside the bedroom of Ruby’s Grandmother, Cherry. The family member doesn’t look too happy at the appearance from her neighbor, but what the interaction provides to the story remains to be seen.
