‘Rally the Troops’

Destiny 2has been officially unveiled by Activision and Bungie, and it’s set for a September 8 release date.

We’ll see more actual gameplay on May 18, but for now, here’s a cinematic that gives us the gist of the story — the Red Legion’s takeover of the last safe city on Earth and the Guardian’s task of reclaiming their home. Activision notes that in addition to the PS4 (which has another exclusive content deal) and Xbox One,Destiny 2will see a release on PC!

The trailer doesn’t really do it for me with Nathan Fillion doing his bestDeadpoolimpression (Cayde-6 is a little goofier here compared to his original performance), but the complete abandonment of older platforms and a PC release gives me hope. What Bungie won’t fix, modders will!

Because it’s Activision, it’s getting standard ($59.99), limited edition ($99.99) and collector’s edition ($249.99) prints, as well as an expansion pass ($30). You can see those in the gallery below.
