Up first: The protagonist

After playing a game, do you ever look up the voice cast and trace their history only to learn that, “Oh whoa, he also playedthat guy? And he was inthat show? What the?!” (Semi-related: I’m still not over the fact that Uncle Phil fromThe Fresh Prince of Bel-Airwas alsoTMNT‘s Shredder.)

Atlus has come out with the English voice cast for next year’sPersona 5, and I’ll save you the trouble with a Fun Fact regarding “the protagonist,” who is played by Xander Mobus. Amazingly, he was also theannouncerinSuper Smash Bros.for Wii U and 3DS, and voiced both Master Hand and Crazy Hand. Do what you will with that information. It might just save your life one day.

In the mean time, you’re able to get to know Mobus a little better with this interview clip.

As for the rest of the cast, here’s the list:

“This is a completely new cast of characters, so we started with a blank slate in bringing life to them with our stellar cast of voice actors,” says project lead and recording supervisor Yu Namba. “It’s hard saying goodbye to the cast of previousPersonagames, but we hope to bring an entirely new tone with a new set of actors for this game.”

That first video is of course meant to be audio-centric, but as ever, I find myself most captivated byPersona 5‘s flashy aesthetic and graphical elements (and also that slick-as-hell logo animation at the end). Love the way that stuff is incorporated in the game itself as damage pop-ups and the like.
