Bethesda brings horror back to the mainstream

God, I’m looking forward toThe Evil Within. Shinji Mikami, back doing horror, and backed by one of the few publishers with enough balls left to not stick cravenly to focus-tested sludge. Couldn’t be happier with that.

Unpredictability, and unreliable tactics mark the philosophy of gameplay, according to Bethesda’s Pete Hines. By design, a headshot may not be enough to take down an enemy, and some may even fake being finished off to get you. Enemies will lay traps for you, and false steps could see certain monsters take you down in one shot.
