By this time, it’s no secret that theElden RingDLC,Shadow of the Erdtree, is a major hit for FromSoftware. Now,The Witcher IIIdeveloper CD Projekt has congratulated the developer, sharing art of Geralt slaying Mohg, the boss guarding the way to theElden RingDLC.
For nearly a decade, theWitcher III‘sBlood and Wineexpansion held the crown as the highest-reviewed DLC ever. Though by only a digit or two,Shadow of the Erdtreedethroned it, as you may see inthe comparisonbetweenthe twoon Metacritic — and that didn’t go unnoticed.

CD Projekt Redtook to Xvia the officialWitchervideo game account to congratulate FromSoftware with an absolutely badass image of Geralt taking down the Lord of Blood.

CD Project Red pauses work to fight Mohg
It’s been a long time coming, but not evenThe Witcher 3: Blood and Winecould have reigned forever (though, as a fan, you probably could have fooled me). Nonetheless, a new king has been crowned, and for good reason. Our own Chris Carter and Steven Millsgave the stellar DLC a 9.5/10 rating, with the latter saying, “even though my expectations were high,Shadow of the Erdtreestill managed to exceed them.”
Excitement for the DLC, which is available today, is at its peak. In fact, not even the developers at CD Projekt Red could ignore it for long. The account followed up the Geralt art piece with a collage of screenshots, all apparently showing team members’ characters on standby in Mohgwyn Palace, presumably before the launch of the DLC.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Libertydidn’t quite reach the lofty heights of either aforementioned DLC, even though it performed quite well. WithThe Witcher 4in production, perhaps CD Projekt Red will someday vie for the crown once again.
