Evidence they didn?t just take the $3.3 million and run, hooray!

Remember when Double Fineasked for some money($400k) on Kickstarter to make an old-school, point and click adventure game and the gaming collective at large responded with $3.3 million in funding money thereby monumentally shifting the game making climate? I do, too! Here’s a first look at the fruits of those dollars. All of the dollars. Some of the fruits.

During PAX,Double Fine announcedthe game formerly known asDouble Fine Adventurewould be calledBroken Age. It’s about two characters whose lives run parallel: a girl who has been chosen by her village to be sacrificed and a boy confined to a spaceship under the watchful eye of a maternal computer program. Gee, I wonder which has it worse. At least the boy gets an amiable “I’m sorry Dave, I’m afraid I can’t do that,” while she’s being tossed into a volcano or something.

Anyway, how did you like the teaser? The art style is neat and the duality of Double Fine is finally starting to manifest more blatantly, it seems.
