Because that’s what I play Battlefield for!

You’ve been kicking, screaming, and begging for it, so here it is:Hollywood Reporterhas found that Paramount Television and Anonymous Content are optioning the rights for a television show based on EA DICE’sBattlefieldseries. You know, the one with middling-to-dreadful single-player campaigns that everyone skips in favor of themuchbetter multiplayer.

There’s no network yet and this is still the twinkle in some producer’s eye at the moment, but this strikes me as an incredibly odd choice. Paramount TV president Amy Powell describesBattlefieldas having “an incredibly dynamic narrative” as well as “a loyal fan base,” so at least one of those things is true. Michael Sugar of Anonymous Content wants to “develop theBattlefieldTV series with the same commitment to robust storytelling that has made the game such a runaway success for nearly 15 years.”

I remember diggingBand of Brothers, and this could be similar. I’ll most likely stick to the games though (and here’s afull match ofBattlefield 1that I played over the weekend!).
