Finding Hard Drives inSatisfactory1.0 is essential as they unlock all thealternate recipesto different items available in the game.
The entire world of Satisfactory is filled with crash sites and from these spots, you may retrieve precious resources such as Wires, Rotors, Motors, and more. You also obtain a Hard Drive from each of these sites that you can scan under the Molecular Analysis Machine (MAM) to unlock alternate recipes.
How many Hard Drives are there in Satisfactory?
In Satisfactory, there are118 crash sites in total which means you can get as many Hard Drives from these locations.
All you need to do is rotate the lever of the crashed drop pod to open it. You’ll sometimes need to keep an item such as a Modular Frame to open it, after which you may drag the Hard Drive into your inventory.
Be careful though as most of the crash sites are protected by hostile creatures. Kill them first and then proceed to open the crashed drop pods. The other non-hostile spots, however, will be located at a higher altitude.

How to use a Hard Drive to unlock alternate recipes?
Once you have gathered some Hard Drives, head over to the Molecular Analysis Machine (MAM), and start scanning it. It will take 10 minutes for one scan or research to complete after which you can choose between two alternate recipes.
In case you don’t like either of the recipes, you can rescan the Hard Drive to give you two new choices. However, you can only do this once per Hard Drive.
