Remember a few days ago when retailers started making it seem like a price drop on PlayStation 4 might happensoon? In our opinion, this is all but confirmed given Japan got the price drop already. Plus, gift card bonuses prior to significant price drops is a tried-and-true retailer tactic. Sort of a preemptive “get-out-of-jail-free” card when consumers find out a month later that the $400 console they bought now retails for $350.
Anyway, Best Buy is jumping the gun with a one-day-only sale on the new PS4 Destiny: The Taken King bundle, cutting the price down to $350. Stock should be plenty, but it appears to be selling well, as Best Buy’s eBay outlet is now OOS.
If you miss out and you’re reading this the next day, don’t freak out. We’re pretty sure the deal is returning soon in the near future.
It’ll be interesting to see how Microsoft reacts to a PS4 price drop across the board, particularly since holiday season is nearing. We suspect Microsoft will go heavy duty and once again toss in bonuses like gift cards/credits to sway eighth-gen buyers its way.
